Definition
a concept that describes something that persists over time, and is construed to be a relatively inherent characteristic of the object over its lifetime. Example: being smart or being heavy (of a stone slab) are stable states. The stability of states is a matter of construal; a state construed as stable may change – for example, a tall tree whose top is broken off. (Section 2.1)
