Definition
a word order strategy for externally headed - relative clause constructions in which the relative clause follows the relative clause head. Example: in I ate the cheesecake [that Carol baked], that Carol baked is postnominal because it follows the cheesecake. The postnominal strategy is much more common than the prenominal strategy.
