Definition
a subtype of counterpresuppositional contrast in which the sentence rejects a component of a prior assertion by adding something else to the rejected component, rather than simply replacing it. Example: in the exchange John bought apples. He also bought PEACHES, the speaker rejects that what John bought was just apples, and adds peaches to what John bought. Also is an additive focus operator. (Section 11.4.1)
