Definition
a causal / force dynamic structure in which one participant acts on a second participant, which acts on a third participant, and so on. Example: in Jack broke the window with a hammer, Jack acts on the hammer (grasping and moving it), and the hammer acts on the window (breaking it). A causal chain is often represented with arrows: Jack → hammer → window. (Sections 6.1.1, 6.1.2)
