Example: Sally's calendar is an instance of possession – the calendar could be one that she owns, one that she gave me, one that she is holding in a photo of people with calendars, one that she designed or made, one with photos of her, and so on. Many languages have two morphosyntactically distinct possessive modification constructions, an alienable possession construction and an inalienable possession construction (or constructions).
