Definition
a form that signals that a word is being used to refer, typically pertaining to a referent from a nonprototypical semantic class for reference. Example: the suffix -ness in oddness and the suffix -ment in movement are used when a property concept like 'odd' or an action concept like 'move' are being referred to. (Section 3.4.2)
