Definition
a temporal sequential relation between two events such that the preceding event serves as the reference point for the following event. Example: in He drove to the party after washing the car, driving to the party has a posterior temporal relation with respect to washing the car. Used to describe a sequential temporal relation between events in a figure–ground information packaging. (Section 15.1.3)
