Definition
the predicate expressing a fearing event. Example: in Jill fears that Donald has won the election, the commentative predicate fears expresses Jill's evaluation of Donald's winning the election, and also presupposes that the speaker does not know whether Donald has won the election. (Section 18.2.2)
