a pronoun that expresses a free choice referent. Example: in After the fall of the Wall, East Germans were free to travel anywhere, anywhere is a free choice pronoun expressing a referent – a place – toward which the agent in the clause, the East Germans, is free to choose to travel. (Section 3.5)
