Definition
a strategy in which the temporal sequence of the clauses in a sentence necessarily mirrors the consecutive temporal relation of the events denoted by the clauses. Example: in He washed the car and drove to the party, the temporal order of the clauses He washed the car and drove to the party mirrors the consecutive temporal relation of the events.
