Definition
a clause that is defined by a function other than the topic–comment ( predication) function, i.e. a clause that express the thetic or identificational functions. Examples: There's a jaguar! (thetic) and Sally is the winner (identificational) are examples of nonpredicational clauses. (Section 10.1.2)
