Definition

a free morpheme or clitic that encodes the relation between the events denoted by the two clauses in a complex sentence construction. A conjunction in a coordinate clause construction is a coordinator; in an adverbial clause construction, it is an adverbializer; in a complement clause construction, it is a complementizer; and in a relative clause construction, it is a relativizer.
